How Many Entrances Does Park Güell Have?
Park Güell features three primary entrances: the main gate on Carrer d'Olot, the western access via Carretera del Carmel, and the eastern pedestrian entry at Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya.
To manage high visitor numbers and preserve the site’s heritage, the park grounds are strictly divided into two distinct sections:
- The restricted Monumental Zone, which contains Gaudí’s most iconic architectural works like the Casa del Guarda and the mosaic lizard, requires a paid admission ticket for entry.
- The surrounding Forest Zone and certain peripheral paths remain free, primarily serving local residents and those seeking natural viewpoints over the city.
Location of Park Güell entrances
The Park Güell entrances are located at the main gate on Carrer d'Olot, the Carretera del Carmel, and the Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya. These access points provide entry to the southern and eastern perimeters of the hill.

Access 1: Carrer d'Olot
The main entrance to Park Güell sits at the intersection of Carrer de Larrard and Carrer d’Olot. This southern gateway provides immediate access to the Monumental Zone, where visitors encounter the entrance pavilions and the iconic serpentine mosaic bench.
Travelers reach this location via metro or bus lines H6, D40, and 92, which stop at Travessera de Dalt, followed by a short walk. Additionally, bus lines 24 and 32 serve the surrounding area.
Due to its status as the primary entry point near the Casa del Guarda, this gate experiences significant visitor traffic.
